Job description

Adjuncts are essential to Liberty University’s mission of Training Champions for Christ. It is expected that an adjunct member models a personal commitment to the goals and values of Liberty University, engage in an active commitment to, and experience of, personal spiritual formation within a biblically informed Christian worldview. Adjuncts should view their teaching, engagement with students, and scholarship as a means to a significant educational end. They should strive to employ a variety of techniques for the development of good learning conditions, view each student as a unique individual, and insofar as it is possible, provide for individual differences, abilities, and interests.

SUMMARY:
Liberty University’s School of Education doctoral team is seeking an Online Adjunct Qualitative Dissertation Chair or Committee Member to challenge doctoral candidates academically and spiritually. Primary responsibilities will include supervising doctoral candidates conducting methodologically sound research, provide detailed feedback specific to qualitative research methods, and maintain communication with candidates to ensure compliance with school dissertation handbook and university policies. This posting is for remote doctoral chairs/committee member positions.


MINIMAL QUALIFICATIONS:
• Applicant must have an EdD or PhD in Education.
• Degree must be from an institution accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
• Please attach your required Cover Letter and include the title of the position for which you are applying.
• Pastoral reference letter is required, signed by the Pastor from your current church, dated 2023 or 2024, on the church letterhead.
• Two professional reference letters required.
• Full doctrinal compatibility with Liberty University.
• Must demonstrate expertise in qualitative research.
• Superior interpersonal, customer service, presentation, and communication skills required.
• Creative, innovative, and problem-solving skills required.
• Proficiency in MS Office and Canvas.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Preference will be given to candidates with an established record of research evidenced by intellectual and professional contributions to the field through peer-reviewed publication and conference presentations. Preference will be given to candidates with capstone, dissertation, or thesis mentorship experience and experience teaching research methods using online learning platforms (e.g., Canvas). Candidates must be able to work at a pace that will not delay the progress of a doctoral candidate toward timely completion of the doctoral degree
