Job Description

Yuba Community College District is accepting qualified applicants for possible temporary part‑time teaching assignments. These positions are filled based on departmental needs and are open for ongoing recruitment.

Basic Function

Develop and deliver instructional lectures for Psychology courses up to 10 hours per week.
Organize and teach all levels of Psychology classes.
Use appropriate teaching methods to facilitate student learning.
Teach day, evening, and/or weekend assignments, which may include distance learning (interactive television, online) and accelerated courses.
Assess Student Learning Outcomes every semester.
Participate in department, division, and college‑wide initiatives and committees if desired.

Required Duties

Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

Qualifications

Master’s in psychology OR
Bachelor’s in psychology AND Master’s in counseling, sociology, statistics, neuroscience, or social work
OR the equivalent.

Desired/Preferred Qualifications

Preference may be given to candidates with life or teaching experience that demonstrates the clear ability to teach Psychology to community college students.
