Job summary

VCOM seeks a part-time educator to teach Anesthesiologist Assistant students and contribute to curriculum development in collaboration with the Program Director. You will develop, teach, monitor, and evaluate courses across basic science, clinical, and simulation components within the MHSA Program.

You will also mentor students, advise on comprehensive exams, stay current in your field, and participate in professional societies and MHSA activities. Some weeks may be only one or two days.

Qualifications

• Education: Completion of an accredited program in an Anesthesiologist Assistant or Nurse Anesthesia, master’s degree or higher with teaching experience.
• Licensure: NCCAA or NBCRNA certification; valid state license in good standing.
• Experience: Clinical experience in anesthesiology; graduate/undergraduate teaching; organizational committee participation; community involvement.

Responsibilities

• Teach all assigned coursework and participate in curriculum development with the Program Director.
• Act as an academic adviser and mentor for comprehensive exams.
• Develop, teach, monitor, and evaluate courses in basic science, clinical, and simulation/skills development.
• Remain current in professional interests and participate in professional societies and MHSA Program activities.
