Job summary

Motlow State Community College in Tennessee is accepting applications for an Adjunct Political Science Faculty (Pool). This pool position will support multiple campuses and courses and may be called upon as needs arise.

Minimum qualifications include a Master’s degree in the discipline or eligible field with graduate hours; preferred is a doctoral degree and college teaching experience. Duties include teaching, mentoring students, and coordinating with the department.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in discipline or qualifying field from a regionally accredited institution.
• 18 graduate hours in discipline from a regionally accredited college or university.
• Qualifying fields include Political Science, Public Administration, International Relations, Government or related.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses as assigned in accordance with the catalog description and the approved course syllabus.
• Travel to multiple campuses as assigned for classes.
• Collaborate with faculty, department lead/program director, and academic leadership.
• Stay current with developments in the discipline and teaching methods.
• Support curricular and co-curricular activities within the college.
• Teach up to 12 credit hours per semester as assigned.
• Maintain availability to communicate with and meet students.
• Respond promptly to requests from the Dean.
• Submit all required paperwork timely and completely.
• Perform duties in accordance with MSCC policies.
• Other duties as assigned.
