Job summary

Southeast New Mexico College (SENMC) seeks an Adjunct Instructor – Phlebotomy to deliver high-quality instruction in clinical and laboratory settings. The role prepares students for phlebotomy certification and workforce readiness under the Allied Health Department.

Under supervision, you will verify eligibility documentation, oversee clinical learning, and ensure safe practice. Evening/weekend hours may be required; workload averages 8–12 hours weekly depending on needs.

Qualifications

• Current unrestricted phlebotomy certification.
• Minimum of two years recent clinical work experience as a phlebotomist in a phlebotomy lab environment.
• Associate degree in healthcare related field and minimum of one year healthcare related teaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Teach phlebotomy theory and practice, and oversee clinical learning.
• Coordinate and assess clinical rotations and grading of assignments.
• Communicate with clinical partners and preceptors; identify student learning needs.
• Maintain current knowledge of industry standards and ensure safe, ethical practice.
• Evening or weekend instruction may be required.
• Participate in program and department meetings and initiatives.
