Description

The Department of Health and Human Performance at the Universityof Houston seeks applications for a part-time, non-tenure track,Adjunct Faculty position.

The Adjunct Faculty will teach undergraduate courses in Nutritionand Dietetics, with primary teaching responsibilities inIntroduction to Nutrition and other nutrition-related courses asassigned. Applicants should demonstrate a commitment to excellencein teaching and student engagement. The University seeks candidateswho can effectively support student learning and contribute to thepreparation of students pursuing careers in nutrition, dietetics,and other health-related professions.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

(1) TeachIntroduction to Nutrition and other assigned undergraduatenutrition and dietetics courses; (2) prepare and deliver coursecontent in accordance with departmental guidelines; (3) evaluatestudent performance and provide timely feedback; (4) maintainaccurate course records and submit grades by established deadlines;(5) maintain appropriate communication and availability to supportstudent success; and (6) teach courses in face-to-face, online,and/or hybrid formats as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Nutritional Sciences,Public Health Nutrition, or a closely related field from anaccredited institution.
• Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential.
• Demonstrated expertise in nutrition and dietetics.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Commitment to student-centered teaching and learning.
• Ability to teach undergraduate nutrition courses effectively in avariety of instructional modalities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Public Health, HealthSciences, or a related field.
• Previous teaching experience at the collegiate level.
• Experience teaching Introduction to Nutrition and otherundergraduate nutrition courses.
• Professional experience in clinical nutrition, communitynutrition, public health nutrition, wellness, sports nutrition, orfoodservice management.
• Experience with online instruction and learning managementsystems.
• Active membership in the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and/orrelevant professional organizations.
