Job summary
Rock Valley College invites applications for Adjunct Nursing Faculty to provide high-quality classroom, laboratory, simulation, and clinical instruction within the Nursing Program. You will assess student learning, support success, and maintain instructional records while collaborating with the Director of Nursing and the Nursing Program Chair.
Minimum qualifications include a Master's in Nursing and an active Illinois RN license, with at least two years of clinical nursing practice.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Nursing.
- Current, unencumbered RN license in Illinois.
- Minimum of two years of nursing clinical experience.
- Clinical competence for teaching areas.
- Ability to meet clinical agency requirements.
- Commitment to community college mission.
Responsibilities
- Teach nursing courses in classroom, lab, simulations, and/or clinical settings.
- Meet classes at assigned times.
- Select texts and teaching materials; deliver lectures and labs.
- Prepare and deliver assessments aligned to course outcomes.
- Stay informed on current nursing research and articles.
- Foster an inclusive, engaging classroom environment.
- Provide at least 1 hour weekly student interaction per 3 credit hours.
- Evaluate performance using varied assessment methods and provide feedback.
- Utilize Rock Valley College LMS for grading and records.
- Prepare course/class reports as required.
- Adhere to nursing program policies and course plans for consistency.
- Collaborate with the Director of Nursing and program staff.
- Attend faculty and division meetings when available.
- Adhere to FERPA, HIPAA, and higher education policies.
- Maintain reliable attendance and teaching load responsibilities.
