Job summary

Kent Place School in Summit, New Jersey is seeking dedicated part-time Instrumental Music Specialists to inspire young students in our thriving music program. We currently have openings for specialists in upper strings, brass, woodwind, and bass.

Qualifications

• A minimum of three years of teaching experience is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively.
• Bachelor's degree in a related academic field or in Music Education/Teaching is preferred.

• Conduct Middle and Upper School sectional rehearsals.
• Coach chamber music ensembles.
• Provide high-quality private lessons.
• Participate in and support student performances throughout the school year.

• Upper String Specialist (Violin/Viola)
• String Specialist (Cello/Bass)
• Woodwind Specialist
• Brass Specialist

Compensation

$100/instructional hour

Responsibilities

The specialists will work across divisions (grades 3 - 12) to support the technical and musical growth of our students. Primary duties include:

• Leading beginning instructional classes for Grades 3–5.
• Conducting Middle and Upper School sectional rehearsals.
• Coaching chamber music ensembles.
• Providing high-quality private lessons.
• Participating in and supporting student performances throughout the school year.

Requirements
