Houston Christian University’s Department of Mathematics and Physics seeks adjunct faculty to teach undergraduate math courses in a Christian environment, with daytime and evening opportunities. The position supports courses including Intermediate Algebra, College Algebra, Trigonometry, Math for Critical Thinking, Finite Mathematics, Precalculus, and possibly Calculus I.

Qualified applicants hold a master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in mathematics and demonstrate current instructional

Qualifications

Minimum of a master’s degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Mathematics.
Ability to teach most freshman level mathematics courses.
Demonstrate expertise in appropriate and current instructional pedagogy.

Responsibilities

Utilizes a course syllabus for each course, following established departmental and institutional guidelines.
Provides timely, quality access to students via electronic communication and other appropriate methods.
Evaluates students by established means to measure their progress in achieving course objectives and to inform them in a timely manner of their progress.
Maintains professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community.
Submits paperwork and forms in a timely fashion.
Must be available to students outside of the classroom.
Perform other duties as needed.
