Job summary

Sinclair Community College is seeking part-time (adjunct) Mathematics faculty to teach face-to-face courses at partner correctional institutions across Ohio. The position requires a master’s in mathematics or statistics (or a master’s with 18 graduate math credits) and a willingness to work in a prison education setting.

Starting pay is $1,046 per credit hour assigned to teach. Applicants must reside in Ohio, Indiana, or Kentucky or be able to work in one of these states, with SCC restricting

Qualifications

• Master's degree in mathematics or statistics, or a master's degree with 18 graduate credit semester hours in mathematics or statistics.
• Proven commitment to improving student learning through innovative strategies.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for a community college environment.
• Ability to teach face-to-face in a prison education setting.
• Ability to pass a DRC background check.

Responsibilities

• Teach curriculum developed by the department.
• Plan and organize instruction to maximize student learning.
• Prepare and provide syllabi for all assigned sections per department policies.
• Employ appropriate teaching strategies and instructional technology.
• Modify methods to meet diverse student needs.
• Support classroom and online efforts to promote student success.
• Evaluate and return student work promptly to promote learning.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and final grade rosters.
