Del Mar College seeks an Adjunct – Mariachi Pool to lead and teach a dynamic mariachi ensemble. The role includes scheduling performances for on- and off-campus events and maintaining professional relations with students, colleagues, and the community.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree and prior experience leading a successful mariachi ensemble at the high school or college level, and be able to integrate instructional technologies into teaching.
This is a CONTINUOUS recruitment for an applicant POOL to fill part-time/adjunct assignments on an as-needed basis. Departments or Divisions will refer to the POOL of applications on file to fill temporary assignments as the need arises. You will be contacted by the hiring manager should the department/division be interested in scheduling an interview. ADJUNCT – MARIACHI :
The purpose of this position is to lead and teach a very active mariachi ensemble. In addition to teaching, the Mariachi Adjunct schedules performances in response to institutional need and maintains appropriate professional relations with students, colleagues and the community. The ensemble performs the full spectrum of mariachi styles, performing classic and contemporary mariachi music. Mariachi Del Mar performs regularly both in their own concerts as well as for special events on and off campus.
Bachelor’s degree.
Experience leading a successful high school or college Mariachi ensemble.
Demonstrate skill, knowledge, and abilities in the discipline.
Successful college teaching experience experience utilizing instructional technologies, including computers, internet resources and other appropriate media in instruction.
Applicants must reside in the state of Texas and be eligible to work in the United States.
