Qualifications

• MLIS from an American Library Association accredited school is required.
• Commitment to community college philosophy and information literacy; familiarity with research databases, OCLC and Microsoft products.
• Strong customer service orientation and pleasant disposition for working with students and the public.
• Responsibilities include reference desk services, bibliographic instruction, cataloging support and supervising student workers. Weekend hours may be required.

Responsibilities

• Answer reference questions from students, faculty, staff, and community members.
• Assist students in the research process: topic selection, evaluation of sources, proper documentation of references.
• Provide information literacy instruction to classes.
• Assist with cataloging using OCLC and Sirsi WorkFlows.
• Supervise student workers in the absence of the supervisor.
