Job summary

Fordham University School of Law seeks an adjunct professor to teach and lead Fordham teams competing in the Fordham Law ACtech Challenge, a cross-disciplinary program focused on law, technology, and governance.

The Challenge is paired with a mandatory year-long course (two credits each semester) designed to ground students in legal and policy frameworks governing emerging technologies while cultivating practical skills to advise clients in fast-moving, uncertain environments.

Qualifications

• Prior teaching experience preferred.
• Substantial professional or academic expertise in one or more areas relevant to the competition, such as AI governance, technology regulation, platform governance, cybersecurity, privacy, tech policy, product counseling, trust and safety, administrative enforcement, consumer protection, civil rights, competition, or related fields.
• The ability to teach both substantive material and practical lawyering skills in a sophisticated, applied manner.

Responsibilities

• design and teach the two-credit fall and spring courses, meeting two hours per week each semester, focused on substantive instruction and skills training in law, technology, and governance; and
• coach students through the spring semester as they prepare for the competition, including the written pre-competition assignment and the competition weekend itself
