Job summary

Jackson State Community College is seeking an Adjunct Instructor - Theatre (Pool) to deliver quality instruction using integrative technologies. The role handles on-ground, evening, off-campus, and distance-based courses, and requires timely assessment and communication.

The successful candidate will hold a Master’s degree in Theatre, have teaching experience at the collegiate level, and be proficient with standard office software.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Theatre or related field with at least eighteen (18) credit hours in graduate level Theatre from an accredited institution.
  • Collegiate level teaching experience.
  • Knowledge and/or experience using a variety of instructional delivery modes; ability to communicate effectively with a diverse population; proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

  • Teach courses on-ground as assigned, including evening, off-campus, and distance-based formats.
  • Post grades during term and submit final grades by Registrar deadlines.
  • Complete required trainings, attend meetings, and submit attendance, alerts, progress reports, surveys by deadlines.
  • Check JSCC email and departmental mailbox; respond within 48 hours, excluding weekends.
  • Submit or update class syllabus at least two weeks before first day of class or within seven days of contract execution.

Job Summary

This position is responsible for delivering quality instruction using integrative technologies.

Job Duties
  • Teach courses via on ground as assigned. Teach evening, off-campus, and distance-based courses as required.
  • Post grades during the term for student feedback and submit final grades for each semester by the deadline established by the Registrar.
  • Complete required College trainings and complete all required reports such as attendance, Early Alerts, progress reports, grade submissions and administer and return surveys by the required deadlines. Advise the Program Chair or Dean at the earliest possibility if you are unable to teach a class. Attend meetings as requested by the Program Chair and/or Dean. Comply with all the College’s and TBR’s policies and guidelines. Other duties as assigned.
  • Regularly check your JSCC email and your departmental mailbox. Respond to emails/messages within 48 hours except on the weekend.
  • Submit class syllabus or update department syllabus at least 2 weeks prior to the first day of class or within seven days of the execution of contract.
Minimum Qualifications

A Master’s degree in Theatre or a related field with at least eighteen (18) credit hours in graduate level Theatre from an accredited institution.

Preferred Qualifications

Collegiate level teaching experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge and/or experience using a variety of instructional delivery modes. Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Pay Rate

$600 per credit hour
