The adjunct faculty member creates and maintains an effective learning environment in the modalities of the courses assigned. Teaching modalities may be face-to-face, hybrid, online/Zoom, or within the context of dual credit instruction. Hours vary, depending on the need and course schedule, and may include day, evening, and/or weekend instruction. All faculty members are expected to maintain familiarity with and adhere to College policies and procedures.
The Online Adjunct Faculty for Statistics for Healthcare Managers will be responsible for delivering engaging, high-quality instruction to graduate or undergraduate students in an online learning environment. The course is designed to equip healthcare professionals with statistical tools and methodologies applicable to healthcare management, decision-making, and research. The faculty member will develop course content, assess student learning, and provide support and feedback to ensure student success.

Required Education
All faculty members must provide minimum Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) credential standards which normally include an earned Master’s degree in the teaching discipline or a Master’s degree with 18 graduate semester credit hours in the teaching discipline. Transcripts, certificates, and/or license must be submitted with application.
Required Experience
- Demonstrated expertise in statistical methods and their application in healthcare settings.
- At least 2-3 years of teaching experience, preferably in an online environment.
- Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Blackboard, Canvas, or Moodle.
- Proficiency in statistical software such as SPSS, SAS, R, or Excel for data analysis.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex statistical concepts to students from various backgrounds.
Preferred Education
Doctorate degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, Healthcare Management, or a related field.
Preferred Experience
- Experience working in or consulting with healthcare organizations, applying statistical analysis to real-world management problems.
- Prior experience teaching statistics specifically to healthcare managers or healthcare professionals.
- Experience developing online course content, including multimedia learning materials.
Statistical Concepts and Methods
In-depth knowledge of descriptive and inferential statistics, including probability theory, hypothesis testing, regression analysis, correlation, and sampling techniques.
Healthcare Systems and Data
Understanding of healthcare systems, operations, and the types of data commonly used in healthcare. Familiarity with how statistics are applied to areas like healthcare quality improvement, public health, risk assessment, and performance benchmarking.
Statistical Software
Proficiency in statistical analysis tools and software such as SPSS, SAS, R, or Excel. Ability to guide students in using these tools for real-world data analysis in healthcare settings.
Research and Evidence-Based Practice
Knowledge of research design, methodology, and interpretation of results in healthcare, particularly in using statistics to drive evidence-based practice and decision-making.
Educational Technology
Familiarity with Canvas LMS. Understanding of online education best practices, including delivering engaging, interactive content and assessing learning in a virtual environment.
