Ignite Your Career at Villanova University!

Why Work at Villanova?
  • Join a mission‑driven organization. Since Villanova University’s founding in 1842, we have been inspired by the values of truth, unity, and love, and are a community dedicated to service to others.
  • Villanova has been included among the nation’s best colleges and universities. VU’s inclusion again in U.S. News & World Report’s 2026 “Best Colleges” rankings is another indication of the University’s continued prominence and forward momentum.
  • Villanova’s most precious asset is our people. Even as a part‑time employee, you will receive access to certain benefits, including tuition assistance and more.

The Office of the Provost is seeking applications for an Instructor position in a 1‑credit integrating seminar associated with the Sophomore Service‑Learning Community.

The role of the instructor is to ensure that students’ reflection is continuous, connected and relevant to the issues in the common syllabus and their work in the community. The instructor takes an active role and, at other times, supports student teaching assistants to direct or deepen the conversation toward the required readings or the target issue. The seminar models the kind of conversation that we hope students will have in their own time. It is a place to be in dialogue with ourselves, our questions, our experience and learning that influences our own thinking (unconscious bias and mythology) and policies and social practices (rhetoric) that does not serve the common good. (Common Good— a condition in which all people can flourish).

Villanova is a Catholic university sponsored by the Augustinian Order. The University is an equal‑opportunity employer and seeks candidates who understand, respect, and can contribute to the University’s mission and values.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepare each class with student facilitators prior to the seminar.
  • Create presentations and lectures based on set curriculum topics.
  • Read and grade weekly essays.
  • Attend special events when possible (one each semester).
  • Attend one to two instructor meetings each month.
