The University of Cincinnati is seeking an Adjunct Instructor for Sports Administration at UC Blue Ash College. The Business & Economics Department at UC Blue Ash invites applicants for our Sports Administration faculty general pool of candidates from which part-time faculty will be selected for the upcoming term (as needed).
The University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College is one of the largest regional colleges in Ohio. The college is located fifteen miles north of the main uptown campus, on 135 acres in a park-like setting. We offer primarily associate degrees in career and transition programs, as well as general education courses and technical baccalaureate degrees to approximately 5,100 students. The college is a recipient of the Cincinnati Business Courier 2021 Best Places to Work award.
The Department of Business & Economics has 16 full-time and more than a dozen adjunct faculty members who are committed to teaching. Our department currently offers a 2-year associate degree in Pre-Sports Administration, a transfer-oriented program for the bachelor’s degree offered by the College of Education, Criminal Justice and Human Services (CECH) at the University of Cincinnati Uptown campus. We value excellent teaching and personalized student support to help students achieve their goals, whether the goal is to enter a career or to continue their education.
Adjunct faculty are expected to teach courses associate degrees level courses in Sports Administration. Courses may include Introduction to Sport Administration, Sport Administration Professional Experience, Economics of Sport, etc.
The courses may be offered in-person, online, or a hybrid. Class sizes normally range from 15-30 students. Adjunct Instructors would teach 1-2 courses each fall and spring terms. All classes may be offered day or evening. This position is not eligible for Visa or green card sponsorship.
Prior to the effective date of the appointment, the selected candidate must have:
One (1) year of academic teaching experience at the college level.

Compensation and Benefits

As a UC employee, and an employee of an Ohio public institution, if hired you will not contribute to the federal Social Security system, other than contributions to Medicare. Instead, UC employees have the option to contribute to a state retirement plan (OPERS, STRS) or an alternative retirement plan (ARP).
