Position Information

Job Title: Adjunct Instructor - Spanish

Job Description:
Teach subject per qualifications. Applicants need to be available to teach seated, daytime classes at the Ashe and/or Wilkes (main) campuses.

Full Time or Part Time: Part Time

Required Qualifications:

  • Completed master’s degree with at least 18 graduate hours completed in Spanish coursework.
  • Commitment to WCC as a learning-centered college through the College’s mission, vision, values, core skills and learning outcomes, and delivery of instruction and services.

Physical Demands:
Work is primarily performed in an academic (an office or classroom) setting with appropriate climate controls. Travel, early morning, evening, and weekend work may be required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions of this position. The physical and mental demands described as follows are representative of those that must be met by an employee in performing the essential functions of this job:

Essential functions: Positions require lifting, manual dexterity, ability to communicate, ability to sit and/or stand for long periods, ability to move between classrooms, buildings, and campuses, ability to express or exchange ideas, and good eye/hand dexterity. Exposure to bodily fluids and hazardous chemicals.

Medium work: Requires ability to operate a variety of types of office, instructional, and dental equipment. Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally. Physical demands are in excess of sedentary work. Requires the ability to walk, stand, stoop, reach, crouch, knees, reach, or grasp for an extended period of time.

Mental Application: Utilizes memory for details, verbal instructions, emotional stability, critical thinking, adaptability, and creative problem-solving skills are important.

Salary Grade: Salary $35.85 per hour
