Job summary

Niagara University in New York is seeking a part-time instructor to teach two sections of SPA 101 - Introductory Spanish for Fall 2026, starting August 31, with class times 9:00–9:55 and 10:05–11:00 on Mon/Wed/Fri.

Job Summary

The Department of Modern & Classical Languages has an opening for a part time instructor to teach two sections of SPA 101 - Introductory Spanish in the Fall 2026 semester, beginning Monday, August 31, 2026. The schedule for the two classes is: Monday, Wednesday, Friday, 9:00 am - 9:55 am; and 10:05 am - 11:00 am.

Essential Duties

• Use a communicative approach to the teaching of a foreign language, using the target language as much as possible, with minimal English for clarification of some grammar points.
• Prepare daily lesson plans and activities using a textbook that engage students in their study of beginning Spanish, following a syllabus provided by the Department Chair.
• Prepare and grade chapter exams and quizzes, with resources provided by the textbook company; manage an online program for daily homework; and evaluate student performance.
• Maintain a class record and keep attendance.
• Be available for students by appointment to help them with any specific problems they might be having with the course material.
