Job description

The Department of Science and Mathematics at Judson University seeks applications from individuals to teach Introduction to Chemistry Fall 2026. This is a course that will cover inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, and biochemistry in support of our BSN program and general education requirement for a lab science course.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Give lectures and/or active learning work during class times as appropriate to the course goals. The course comes with a laboratory component for which the instructor is responsible.
  • Prepare lessons, select homework assignments as necessary, and create tests and quizzes over the appropriate textbook sections.
  • Respond to student questions (often via email) and evaluate student work.
  • In conjunction with Lab Administrator, maintain laboratory environment, supplies, and equipment. Plan for replacement and updating of equipment on an ongoing basis.
Qualifications:
  • Have a minimum of 18 hrs. of graduate level credits in the field of chemistry; or hold an earned master’s degree, doctorate preferred, in a field of chemistry.
  • Demonstrate an active and growing Christian faith
  • Share a commitment to excellence in teaching within a Christ-centered academic community
  • Possess collaborative skills to work with colleagues across the Science and Mathematics Department and throughout the university.
Salary/Benefits:

Adjunct faculty hold the rank of instructor and are hired on a per-course basis.
