Job summary

Heidelberg University is seeking adjunct instructors for the School of Education. The Adjunct Instructor will provide instruction to undergraduate students in pedagogy, educational theory, child and adolescent development, reading core and/or methods courses, in-person, hybrid, or online formats, and at varied class times including evenings as needed.

Appointments are made on an as-needed basis and applications are accepted into the pool on an ongoing basis.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree or appropriate professional experience in a related field.
• Teaching/Instructional experience.
• Ph.D. or ABD in a related field.
• Documented background in the related instructional area.
• Two years of college-level teaching experience.
• Ability to relate to a diverse cross-section of individuals.
• Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses in pedagogy, educational theory, child and adolescent development, reading core and/or methods courses as needed in Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters based on candidate expertise and qualifications.
• Courses could be assigned as in-person or online instruction.
• Utilize innovative and collaborative teaching methods in support of the School’s mission and learning objectives.
• Perform other essential duties as assigned as outlined in the Faculty Manual.

Heidelberg University is accepting resumes for an adjunct pool in the School of Education. An Adjunct Instructor in the School of Education provides instruction to undergraduate students in the following course subjects: pedagogy, educational theory, child and adolescent development, reading core and/or methods courses. Adjunct instructors will teach part-time on an as-needed basis and should be willing to teach in a variety of formats, including in-person, hybrid, and online, and at varied class times that may include evenings according to program needs.

Applications will be accepted into the pool on an ongoing basis.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Adjunct Instructor in the School of Education will:

• Teach courses in pedagogy, educational theory, child and adolescent development, reading core and/or methods courses as needed in Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters based on candidate expertise and qualifications. Courses could be assigned as in-person or online instruction.
• Utilize innovative and collaborative teaching methods in support of the School’s mission and learning objectives.
• Perform other essential duties as assigned/as outlined in the Faculty Manual

Education and Professional Experience:

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED

Knowledge of operation and use of various office equipment, including, but not limited to: personal computer, including spreadsheet and word processing software, integrated database software, fax machines, copier, telephone, scanner, and printers. A valid driver’s license may be required.
