Palm Beach State College seeks an Adjunct HVACR Instructor to teach college students using established HVACR curricula and industry standards. The role requires holding a valid HVACR license or NCCER/NATE certifications, plus several years of field experience.

The instructor will develop curricula, assess learning outcomes, and align with PBSC mission while maintaining instructional schedules. Evening/weekend availability and use of Canvas LMS are expected.

• HVACR Journeyman License (US or from another state)
• NCCER Level Two HVACR Certification or verifiable certification
• HVAC Excellence Certifications
• NATE Certifications
• PA Section 608 Refrigerant Recovery Certification
• Four years of verifiable field experience
• Two years of verifiable teaching/training experience
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and instructional tech like Canvas LMS

About This Role

Instruct college students in accordance with educational theories and techniques. Develops discipline related curricula, assess student learning, participates in program evaluation, and college activities. Maintains college and department standards in support of the College's mission and strategic plan. Work schedule varies according to teaching assignment.

What An Adjunct Instructor’s Day Looks Like

• Develops, maintains, interprets, and executes administrative procedures and practices. This activity includes developing and maintaining manuals regarding the College's policies, procedures, rules, and standards.
• Analyzes class and program needs of the College. Determines and recommends the retention or deletion of courses.
• Develops and coordinates program and course schedules, faculty assignments, and test dates. Maintains calendar as necessary to track these schedules and adjusts as required.
• Assist students and program curriculum, program and course reviews, and articulation activities.

We’d love to hear from you if you have the following:

Education And Experience

• A State or County HVACR Journeyman License (Verifiable if from another state)

OR

• NCCER Minimum Level Two HVACR Certification or other related verifiable certification.

OR

• HVAC Excellence Certifications

OR

• North American Technician Excellence Certifications

AND

• PA Section 608 Refrigerant Recovery Certification

AND

• Four Years of verifiable experience working in the field

AND

• Two years of verifiable experience as a teacher and/or trainer

Knowledge Of

• Microsoft Office Professional or similar applications
• Utilize Canvas Learning Management System and other instructional technologies

Ability To

• Interact positively with diverse populations and varying education levels of students, faculty, staff, and the public.

Pay Rates

Standard hourly rates vary based on the assigned course level and educational credentials. Must have the ability to work a fluctuating schedule to include evenings and weekends.
