Job summary

Touro College, a leading institution in New York, seeks an Adjunct Instructor to teach graduate courses on campus and online, working with the Program Chair and Lead Course Instructor. The role includes advising and supervising master’s degree candidates and participating in faculty collaborative learning.

Ideal candidates hold a Master’s degree in Curriculum, Instruction, Special Education or a related field, with NYSED Special Education certification and prior graduate-level teaching

Qualifications

• Masters Degree required, earned doctorate preferred, in Curriculum, Instruction, Special Education, or related field
• Current certification in Special Education
• Successful classroom teaching experience, grades 7 - 12, of diverse students
• Successful graduate-level teaching experience, face-to-face and/or online
• Successful leadership experience
• Experience in course and program design
• Successful experience supervising degree candidates in clinical field placements, if assigned for clinical supervision
• Commitment to culturally relevant and sustaining pedagogy
• Knowledge of NYSED teacher certification examinations

Responsibilities

• Teach graduate course sections (on campus and online).
• Assist program advisement for candidates and supervise master’s degree candidates during clinical placements.
• Collaborate with Program Chair and Lead Course Instructor and participate in faculty learning communities.
• May supervise candidates during clinical practice.
