Job summary

Springfield College invites applications for an Adjunct Faculty member to teach ECON 205: Microeconomics. The successful candidate will deliver instruction in fundamental microeconomic theory and its real-world applications.

Responsibilities include preparing and delivering course content, assessing student learning, communicating with students, and supporting student success in accordance with departmental and college expectations. In-person teaching; MA residents only.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Economics or a closely related field is required.
• Prior college-level teaching experience preferred.
• Experience with Brightspace LMS is preferred.
• Ability to engage students through practical applications and current economic issues.
• Must reside in one of the following states: MA, CT, WI, DE, TX, VT, FL for in-person teaching.

Topics include supply and demand, consumer behavior, production and costs, market structures, pricing, competition, labor markets and market efficiency. Responsibilities include preparing and delivering engaging course content, assessing student learning, maintaining regular communication with students, and supporting student success in accordance with departmental and college expectations.

Compensation for adjunct faculty with fewer than 3 years college teaching experience is $2820 for a 3-credit course

Compensation for adjunct faculty with 3 or more years college teaching experience is $3513 for a 3-credit course

ECON 205: Microeconomics (In -Person/No Online Option)

• Master's degree in Economics or a closely related field Required
