Required Qualifications
Associate’s degree. Minimum two years experience working in an emergency medical setting. Strong knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems. Knowledge of current Microsoft Office applications and excellent written communication skills and basic computer literacy required. Ability to use technology to enhance teaching and learning and have excellent analytical, interpersonal and oral communications skills. Be able to demonstrate the Morton College core values of truth, compassion, fairness, responsibility and respect.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in related field. Four years working in various roles in an emergency medical setting. Strong knowledge of medical and legal issues faced by the emergency medical technician. Working knowledge of business correspondence, office machines, job seeking, cloud computing, and speech recognition software. Academic preparation and teaching experience in areas of Emergency Medical Technology. Experience using course management system to deliver instruction. Experience working with culturally diverse students. Willingness to stay up-to-date on current trends in emergency medical procedures and practice.
Job Summary
The EMT Instructor will teach the skills and knowledge necessary to provide emergency medical care at the basic life support level to a diverse student population; will participate and perform other duties related to teaching at a community college. The responsibilities and duties of the instructor may change as the needs of the college arise.

Physical Demands
Significant physical strength and dexterity and the ability to function in very adverse environments with exposure to numerous safety risks typically found at emergency scenes. Occasionally required to lift and carry weights scaled at above 100 pounds or more.
