Adjunct Instructor, Electrical Systems Technology (Continuous Posting)

Position Summary: The Electrical Systems Instructor is responsible for providing quality instruction to students, ensuring student satisfaction in classroom or laboratory settings, with a primary emphasis on electrical wiring and motor controls.

Responsibilities

• Develop daily lesson plans and deliver instruction through lecture, online, and laboratory experiments.
• Participate in school retention initiatives by providing accurate, timely feedback on academics, behavior, attendance, etc.
• Motivate students to actively participate in all aspects of the educational process.
• Maintain expertise in the subject area and recommend curriculum design improvements.
• Instruct students in laboratory safety procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Electrical Systems Technology, Electronics Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering Technology, Biomedical Equipment Technology, Construction Management, Industrial Systems Technology, Mechatronics Engineering Technology, or a related degree; OR Electrician’s License.

Preferred Qualifications

• Two years of full‑time or equivalent experience in construction or the electrical trade.
• Experience teaching at a community college, especially with at‑risk populations, diverse student backgrounds, or incarcerated students.
• NCCER Certifications.
• OSHA Authorized Trainer.
• Proficiency in a foreign language such as Spanish, an East Slavic language, and/or American Sign Language.

Compensation

Salary: $34.15 per contact hour.
