Southern Oregon University is seeking qualified individuals to teach courses within the School of Education. Responsibilities include teaching, assessment, and supporting student learning, with a focus on diverse learners. Candidates must hold a Master’s or terminal degree in the relevant discipline, along with demonstrated teaching potential.
The position is term-based, with compensation of $650 per ELU for non-terminally prepared instructors and $750 for terminally prepared instructors. This role does not offer benefits.
Individuals appointed from this pool will have the primary responsibility to teach courses within the School of Education. These courses may include undergraduate and graduate offerings in education studies, early childhood education, and other specialty areas such as special education, adult education, and higher education leadership. Adjuncts may also serve as supervisors of student field experiences and, where qualified, provide administrative support.
Position is not eligible for benefits. Compensation is term‑by‑term: $650 per ELU for non‑terminally prepared instructors and $750 per ELU for terminally prepared instructors. Graduate‑level courses may receive a higher rate.
Workload is typically less than 7.5 ELU per term, but may reach up to 15 ELU. Assignments may be first‑year seminar, online/hybrid, or campus classes and may include day, evening, or weekend courses. Applicants must be willing to travel and attend training programs as required.
