Adjunct Instructor – Cardiovascular Sonography

Position Summary

Weatherford College occasionally opens adjunct instructor positions. Qualified applicants are encouraged to apply for a continuous‑recruitment pool. This position provides evening instruction (5:00‑9:00 PM, Monday‑Friday) in the Cardiovascular Sonography Program and includes on‑campus scanning‑lab instruction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Teach courses in the approved discipline and facilitate student acquisition of the learning outcomes.
• Mentor students inside and outside of the classroom.
• Create and maintain an effective learning environment in face‑to‑face, hybrid, online/Zoom, or dual‑credit contexts.
• Provide timely feedback and respond to student communications.
• Assess student performance, submit final grades, and complete required training and departmental meetings.
• Maintain familiarity with and adherence to College policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Required Education

• Minimum Southern Association of Colleges and Schools credential standards for faculty teaching workforce or degree‑completion courses.
• Appropriate academic degree and demonstrated competencies in the teaching discipline. Transcripts, certificates, and/or license must be submitted with the application.
• Associate degree plus 2–5 years experience, Bachelor’s degree plus 6–10 years experience, Master’s degree plus 11–15 years experience, or Doctorate degree plus 16+ years experience in the field of study, or credentialed in the field.

Required Experience

• Three (3) years full‑time clinical experience as an adult cardiac or vascular sonographer.

Preferred Education

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Preferred Experience

• Previous adult echocardiography or diagnostic medical sonography teaching experience.
