Palm Beach State College is seeking adjunct instructors to develop and maintain course materials, analyze program needs, and coordinate schedules. The role involves supporting students and curriculum reviews, and coordinating with faculty across various courses.

The position requires a Master's degree in a relevant physical science field, ability to work evenings and weekends, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and Canvas LMS.

• Develops and coordinates program and course schedules, faculty assignments, and test dates. Maintains calendar as necessary to track these schedules and adjusts as required.
• Assist students and program curriculum, program and course reviews, and articulation activities.

About This Role

What An Adjunct Instructor’s Day Looks Like

• Develops, maintains, interprets, and executes administrative procedures and practices. This activity includes developing and maintaining manuals regarding the College's policies, procedures, rules, and standards.
• Analyzes class and program needs of the College. Determines and recommends the retention or deletion of courses.
• Develops and coordinates program and course schedules, faculty assignments, and test dates. Maintains calendar as necessary to track these schedules and adjusts as required.
• Assist students and program curriculum, program and course reviews, and articulation activities.

Education And Experience

• Master's degree in Astronomy, Astrophysics, Physics, or related physical science sub-field or Master's degree and 18 graduate semester hours in Astronomy, Astrophysics, Physics, or related physical science sub-field.

Knowledge Of

• Microsoft Office Professional or similar applications
• Utilize Canvas Learning Management System and other instructional technologies

Ability To

• Interact positively with diverse populations and varying education levels of students, faculty, staff, and the public.

Work Environment And Physical Demand

• Reach and grasp objects

• Proofread and check documents for accuracy

Pay Rates

Standard hourly rates vary based on the assigned course level and educational credentials.

Must have the ability to work a fluctuating schedule to include evenings and weekends.
