Adjunct Instructor - American Sign Language

Location: Utica, NY Job Type: Part-Time/Adjunct Work Arrangement: This position requires on-campus instruction and presence in Utica, NY as needed.

MVCC's School of Humanities invites applications for part-time Adjunct Instructors to teach courses in American Sign Language.

Adjunct faculty members teach contracted classes in accordance with established policies and guidelines. We are seeking Adjunct Instructors to teach for in-person classes at the Utica campus between the hours of 8:00am and 4:30pm. Specific assignments will be made according to the academic qualifications and availability of the individual and School needs.

Overview of Job Duties:

• Facilitate classroom instruction; Teach assigned class in accordance with the learning objectives; Develop and maintain syllabus materials; Evaluate student performance; Maintain grades, enter midterm and final grades; Respond promptly to student inquiries; Maintain attendance records according to MVCC standards; Integrate current and emerging instructional delivery technologies into the learning process; Maintain professional standards that protect student confidentiality; Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing using discretion, patience, and courtesy.
