Job summary

The University of New Hampshire in Durham seeks an adjunct faculty member to teach POLT 505 American Congress to about 30 undergraduates, Tue and Thu 2:10–3:30. You will design engaging lectures and assess student work.

Responsibilities include delivering instruction, holding office hours, and completing course administration with UNH policy awareness. A Master’s degree and relevant experience are required, with ABD or PhD preferred.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree and 2 years of professional experience.
• ABD or PhD in a related discipline.
• Candidate must be able to teach about American Congress and possess a broader knowledge of American government and political institutions.
• Prior teaching experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Delivering in-class instruction on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:10-3:30.
• Offering 1-2 hours per week of office hours for students to meet outside of class time.
• This position must handle the administrative work associated with the course, including: Syllabus preparation, coordinating books/reading materials with the bookstore, maintaining Canvas, grading, responding to email queries from students, Department faculty and staff.
