Job summary

Bastyr University in Kenmore, WA is seeking an adjunct faculty member to administer the didactic curriculum for the acupuncture and East Asian medicine program on the Kenmore campus. The position is temporary and onsite, supporting a quarter-based schedule with 11-week terms.

Candidates must hold a master's in acupuncture or related field, be a NCCAOM diplomat, hold or pursue WA licensure, and have teaching experience.

Qualifications

• Candidate must have a master's degree in acupuncture or acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine with demonstrated ability working and communicating effectively with diverse student, faculty, and staff populations.
• Active diplomate status with NCCAOM is required as is Washington state acupuncture licensure.
• Prior teaching experience preferred. DAc or DAOM degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Instruct and assess students in acupuncture education in a didactic setting as part of the acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine program(s).
• Teaching the above course(s) as scheduled and ensuring that learning objectives are met.
• Finding a substitute or making up the material missed if classes are missed and adjusting compensation per policies.
• Completing and posting course syllabi and grades by deadlines and participating in assessments.
