Job summary

Oklahoma City University Meinders School of Business seeks part-time Adjunct Instructors in Accounting to teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses on an as-needed basis. Courses may be delivered in-person or online depending on departmental needs.

This temporary, part-time role requires a master’s degree in accounting, with CPA/CMA/PhD preferred, and prior teaching experience is welcome. Instructors will develop materials, assess student work, and maintain records.

Qualifications

  • A master's degree in Accounting or a closely related field is required.
  • CPA, CMA, or PhD is preferred.
  • Previous college/university teaching experience is preferred.

Position Summary:
The Meinders School of Business at Oklahoma City University is seeking part-time Adjunct Instructors in Accounting to teach undergraduate and/or graduate-level courses on an as-needed basis. This is a temporary, part-time position. Courses may be delivered in-person or online depending on departmental needs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality instruction in accounting, ensuring engaging and effective learning experiences for students.
  • Develop and deliver course materials that align with the university’s curriculum and learning objectives.
  • Assess student performance through assignments, exams, and projects, providing timely and constructive feedback.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and submit grades in accordance with university policies.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student success.
  • Adhere to academic integrity and ethical teaching practices, following university and department policies.
Qualifications:
  • A master's degree in Accounting or a closely related field is required. A CPA, CMA, or PhD is preferred.
  • Previous teaching experience at the college or university level is preferred.
  • Professional experience in accounting, auditing, taxation, or related fields is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, accounting software, and online learning platforms (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard) for course delivery.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to engage diverse student populations.
Additional Information:
  • Courses are primarily held at the Meinders School of Business on OCU's main campus. Some online teaching opportunities may be available.
  • Teaching assignments may include daytime and evening classes, depending on scheduling needs.
  • Adjunct faculty residing outside Oklahoma may teach remotely if they reside in one of the university-approved states: Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Missouri, New Mexico, Oregon, or Virginia.
  • All university employees must complete a criminal background check and mandatory training.
