Midlands Technical College in South Carolina seeks an adjunct history instructor to provide introductory-level courses in person across Midlands campuses and off-campus sites, including high schools.
Duties include delivering engaging learning activities, maintaining classroom management, and meeting all orientation, meetings, trainings, and deadlines while contributing to Student Learning Outcomes assessments.
Provides instruction to students enrolled in introductory-level history courses. This is an in-person position that will be required to teach classes at multiple campuses and off-campus sites, including high schools. Duties include conducting appropriate learning activities, maintaining effective instructional management, participating in all required orientation, meetings and trainings, adhering to all college- designated deadlines, and participating in Student Learning Outcomes (SLO) assesments.
Master of Arts in History; or Master of Arts in a related field plus 18 graduate credit hours in history.
Past experience in teaching introductory college history courses, especially in the community college setting is preferred.
Adjunct faculty are compensated in accordance with Midlands Technical College's established pay schedule. The standard adjunct pay rate is $2,802 per three-credit-hour course. Final compensation may vary depending on academic credentials and total course credit hours. Any variation is determined upon hire and outlined in the faculty employment agreement.
