Job summary

Touro University in New York is looking for an Adjunct Instructor for Childhood Education/Special Education for Grades 1-6. The instructor will teach graduate courses and supervise master’s candidates while promoting an inclusive learning environment.

The position requires a Master’s Degree in Curriculum or Special Education, current certification, and successful teaching experiences, both in-class and online. A comprehensive benefits package is included for eligible employees.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree required, earned doctorate preferred.
• Current certification in Childhood Education and in Special Education.
• Successful classroom teaching experience, Grades 1-6.

Responsibilities

• Teach graduate course sections both on-campus and online.
• Supervise candidates during clinical practice if assigned.
• Support program advisement for candidates.

Skills

Excellent communication, teaching, and interpersonal skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Proficiency in online learning platforms

Knowledge of NYSED teacher certification examinations

Education

Master's Degree in related field

Current certification in Childhood and Special Education
