Job summary

Johnson County Community College is seeking an Adjunct Assistant Professor for Fashion Merchandising and Design to teach FASH 123, 124 and 190. The role requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree and two years of industry experience, with strong sewing and garment construction knowledge.

Courses emphasize hands-on design, construction, pattern alteration, and professional student mentoring. The position offers a per-credit-hour starting salary range and is housed in the Academic Affairs

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related discipline.
• At least two years of related industry experience.
• Strong sewing, patternmaking, and garment construction knowledge.
• Ability to teach Apparel Construction and related courses.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Teach FASH 123 - Apparel Construction I, including course objectives and hands-on garment construction.
• Teach FASH 124 - Apparel Construction 2 with focus on intermediate techniques and ensemble planning.
• Teach FASH 190 - Apparel Fit, Alterations and Analysis and assist students with pattern alterations.
• Develop and assess lesson plans, assignments, and student performance in alignment with college standards.
