Job summary

Bunker Hill Community College is seeking an Adjunct Faculty member for the Surgical Technology Associate Program. The Adjunct will conduct clinical visits in the operating room to evaluate students during rotations and assist with program assessment and accreditation tasks.

The role requires current licensure/certification as a Surgical Technologist in Massachusetts (or the ability to obtain upon hire) and a minimum of two years of professional experience.

Qualifications

• Current license and/or certification as a Surgical Technologist in Massachusetts, or ability to obtain upon hire.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Surgical Technologist.
• Prefer teaching in community college.
• Proven ability to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff and student population.

Responsibilities

• Teach and advise within the Surgical Technology Program options.
• Perform clinical visits in the OR in order to evaluate students' progress through clinical rotations in the Surgical Technology Program.
• Actively participate in the assessment of the overall effectiveness of the Surgical Technology Program options' curriculum and delivery.
• Actively participate in the assessment of compliance with all Accreditation Standards and maintenance of programmatic accreditation in assigned areas.
• Represent the Surgical Technology Program with healthcare organizations.
• Actively participate in the orientation and training of clinical preceptors and staff specific to programmatic policies and outcomes.
• Maintain expertise in area of teaching responsibility.
• Actively participate and collaborate with faculty and staff within the Surgical Technology at BHCC.
• Collaborate and work with the Surgical Technology Faculty/Staff, Dean and Assistant Dean of the Health Science Division regarding all aspects of the Surgical Technology program needs, assessment, and on-going operations.
• Actively participate as a faculty member in the general College community and fulfill duties as stipulated in the MCCC Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Adjunct Faculty Surgical Technology Associate Program

The Nursing Department is looking to hire an Adjunct Faculty member for the Surgical Technology Program. The Adjunct Faculty member will be responsible to perform clinical visits in the operating room to evaluated students throughout their rotations. They will also be responsible for completing the following tasks.
