These teacher candidates are practicing paraeducators who are beginning the student- teaching portion of their program. Supervisors will support candidates throughout their clinicalexperience through classroom observations, conferences, feedback, documentation, and collaboration with mentor teachers and university personnel.Supervisors will generally be assigned to candidates in their own school district or in neighboring districts. Assignments are intended to involve a reasonable commute within the supervisor’s local area and surrounding communities; extensive statewide travel is not expected.Essential Responsibilities Conduct scheduled classroom observations of assigned teacher candidates. Supervisors should anticipate responsibilities that may include: Approximately 1-4 teacher candidates per term Five required formal observations per candidate Pre- and post-observation conferences Communication with candidates, Cooperating Teachers, and university personnel Completion of online evaluations and documentation Participation in required meetings or training Most observations and conferences will occur during the school day and will be scheduled incollaboration with the candidate and school personnel.Geographic ExpectationsStudent teacher supervisors are needed throughout Nebraska. Supervisors will typically be assigned to paraeducators completing their clinical practice in: Their own school district Neighboring school districts Nearby communities within a reasonable commuting distance Supervisors must have reliable transportation and be able to travel to assigned school sites.CompensationCompensation will be discussed with candidates who are selected for the position.
