Position Information

Position Title: Adjunct Faculty (Section Lead) Pool– Online MS in Finance Program

Unit Mission Statement: The mission of the Raymond A. Mason School of Business at William & Mary is to serve the Commonwealth, the nation, and the global community by offering high-quality educational programs and creating and communicating new knowledge.

Position Summary: The Raymond A. Mason School of Business at William & Mary is recruiting a pool of adjunct faculty (Section Lead) to lead one or more 7.5-week asynchronous course sections within the Online Master of Science in Finance (MSF) program. Section Leads serve a vital role within the Online MSF program, facilitating course sections by posting announcements, engaging in discussion boards, offering office hours, responding to inquiries, monitoring progress, grading assignments, and providing feedback. Section Leads are provided with professional learning opportunities and are invited to attend on-campus events.

Position duties include:

  • Maintain frequent communication with faculty and staff.
  • Complete online instructor orientation and technology training.
  • Review and follow university, school, and program policies.
  • Coordinate course activities with the Faculty Lead.
  • Post a Welcome announcement on the first day of the course.
  • Respond to student inquiries within 24 hours.
  • Provide timely feedback on graded assignments.
  • Monitor student progress and notify Faculty Lead of concerns.
  • Submit final grades according to grading policies.

Section Leads typically spend 15 to 20 hours per week on these duties.

Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications
