Job summary

Bunker Hill Community College invites applications for teaching Psychology courses in the Behavioral Sciences Department. Courses may be offered at BHCC campuses and partner sites, including Chelsea and Chelsea High School, with a focus on engaging diverse learners.

The candidate should hold a Master’s or Ph.D. in Psychology or a related field, demonstrate culturally responsive pedagogy, and be prepared to teach introductory through advanced psychology topics across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Psychology or related field.
• Evidence of engagement in culturally responsive pedagogies.
• Experience with high impact teaching and learning practices (e.g. undergraduate research, community engagement, critical pedagogies, learning communities).
• Proven ability to work with a diverse faculty, staff and student population.
• Must be available to teach at Chelsea, Malden High School, Freedom House, and Chelsea High School.
• We are seeking faculty to teach one or more of the following courses: Introduction to Psychology, Psychology of Social Relations, Group Dynamics, Psychology of Popular Culture, Psychology of Personal Adjustment, Child Psychology, Human Growth and Development, Counseling, Social Psychology, Personality, Adolescent & Adult Development, Abnormal Psychology, Intro to Psychiatric Rehabilitation, Intro to Behavioral Research

Responsibilities

• Teach psychology courses across BHCC campuses and partner sites as assigned.
• Prepare and deliver engaging course materials and assessments.
• Support student success through culturally responsive and inclusive teaching practices.
• Engage in department activities, curriculum development, and program growth.
• Demonstrate ability to teach one or more of the listed psychology courses at multiple sites (Chelsea, Malden High School, Freedom House, Chelsea High School).

Preferred Requirements

• Community college teaching experience preferred.
• Our students come from a variety of cultural, linguistic, and socioeconomic backgrounds, and we are dedicated to providing them with the support they need to succeed. While not required, the ability to read, speak, and write in Spanish or other languages is preferred.

Additional Information

Salary: $1,512 Per Credit Hour

Effective Date: Fall 2026 semester
