Jacksonville State University is seeking adjunct faculty for Professional Counseling and Leadership. Job Summary

The Department of Professional Counseling and Leadership is seeking adjunct faculty members to teach courses in the program areas of School Counseling and Clinical Mental Health Counseling. These courses are offered in-person, hybrid and online with experience in all three instruction methods preferred.

We also seek adjuncts to serve as supervisors for candidates completing field and clinical experiences (practicum and internship). Adjuncts applying for the position of university supervisor must be flexible and able to travel to placement sites.

Required Qualifications

  • An Ed.S. (or higher) degree in counseling or field related to the program area for which employment is sought.
  • Recent experience practicing in the program or related field. Individuals serving as administrators are qualified if they also have experience in the program area for which employment is sought.
  • Proficiency in the use of basic instructional technology including Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, and other common instructional and education management systems.
  • Knowledge of State and Federal laws and regulations concerning Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), Section 504, IDEA 1997 amendments, and the ADA for transition and employment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and human relations skills, as well as excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience working with diverse populations.
