Job summary

McMurry University invites applications for adjunct faculty positions to support instructional needs across academic programs. This pool is used to build a pool of qualified candidates for part-time, temporary teaching assignments as they become available, with appointments made on a course-by-course basis dependent on department needs, enrollment, and funding.

Selected candidates may teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in their area of expertise, either in-person, online, or hybrid

Qualifications

• Minimum Master's degree in teaching discipline or related field and strong communication skills.
• Relevant professional or teaching experience and ability to teach across disciplines.

• Teach assigned courses in alignment with approved curriculum and learning outcomes.
• Prepare course materials, syllabi, and instructional content.
• Engage students through effective teaching strategies and timely communication.
• Assess student learning and provide meaningful feedback.
• Maintain accurate attendance, grades, and course activities.
• Adhere to university policies and academic standards.

Appointments are made on a course-by-course basis and are dependent upon departmental needs, enrollment, and funding.

Adjunct faculty members play a vital role in delivering high-quality instruction and supporting student success. Selected candidates may teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in their area of expertise, either in-person, online, or hybrid formats.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach assigned courses in alignment with approved curriculum and learning outcomes
• Prepare course materials, syllabi, and instructional content
• Engage students through effective teaching strategies and timely communication
• Assess student learning and provide meaningful feedback
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and course activities
• Adhere to university policies and academic standards

Minimum Qualifications

• Master's degree in the teaching discipline or a related field (minimum 18 graduate hours in the discipline)
• Relevant professional or teaching experience
• Strong communication and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior college-level teaching experience
• Experience with online or hybrid instruction
• Terminal degree in the discipline (where applicable)
