Job description

Position Overview

Broward College invites applications for a part-time teaching position in Physics or Engineering Technology. The ideal candidate will share the college’s commitment to educate students and support academic achievement.

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate mastery of the discipline and a commitment to the college mission, including fostering student success, academic achievement, and persistence.
  • Employ teaching methods to accommodate varying levels of academic preparation and incorporate appropriate technology across modalities to facilitate learning.
  • Facilitate the needs of different learners through responsive pedagogical techniques and effective practices for engaging students.
  • Willingness to examine and adapt instructional, relational, and classroom practices to better engage and support students.
  • Engage in student consultation, course preparation, review of course outlines, and preparation of course syllabi.
  • Provide prompt and constructive support to students through regular office hours and timely feedback on assessments and activities.
  • Provide timely feedback to student emails.
  • Adhere to reporting deadlines such as grade processing, enrollment verification, syllabus submission, and textbook adoption.
  • Participate in service to the college and its community.
Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in Physics or Engineering.
  • OR Master’s Degree and 18 graduate credit hours in Physics or Engineering.
  • Prior college teaching experience preferred.
  • High level of digital literacy and a commitment to teaching.
