Job summary

Bluegrass Community & Technical College seeks an Adjunct Faculty member to teach Physics and Astronomy. This part-time position entails delivering in-person and online courses across campus locations, developing syllabi, and guiding students through coursework.

Minimum qualifications include a Master’s in Physics or a related field with 18 graduate hours in Physics/Astronomy. Preferred applicants have prior community college teaching experience and a commitment to student success.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Physics or a related field; 18 graduate hours in Physics/Astronomy acceptable.
• Experience teaching Physics and Astronomy at the college level preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lecture courses – Prepare syllabus, lectures, and exams that follow course curriculum.
• Laboratory courses – Prepare syllabus, supervise labs, and grade lab work. Set up and tear down equipment needed for each lab.
• Promptly answer student emails and messages.
• Meet with students to help them with course work as needed.
• Complete and submit required college reports and grades.
• Complete mandatory training annually.
• OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED.
