Position Title: Adjunct Faculty: Physical Diagnosis III Lab

Position Summary: The Gannon University Physician Assistant Program in Erie, PA has openings for adjunct faculty members to teach content in Physical Diagnosis III Lab. The candidate must have a Master’s or Doctorate degree and teaching experience is preferred but not necessary. The course is a once weekly 3-hour lab from 6:00pm-9:00pm that allows students to practice history taking and physical exam skills with patients within hospital and assisted-living settings. The faculty member will oversee patient interactions, case presentations, grading of clinical notes, and clinical skills testing. It begins on January 13, 2025 and concludes on May 9, 2025.

Required Qualifications

Requirements include an earned terminal degree (e.g. MS, MPAS, MSPAS, MD/DO), current NCCPA certification (if applicable) or other appropriate board certification, and relevant clinical experience; candidates are required to have or be eligible for PA, MD, or DO licensure in Pennsylvania. Additional requirements include effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills, and the ability to be an effective team member. Candidates must be able to support and promote the University’s inclusive Mission, its Catholic identity, and its liberal arts and professional education traditions.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous teaching experience is preferred but not required. A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience is preferred.

The candidate must be able to meet the physical demands of a normal clinical office and classroom environment.
