Job summary

The Hampton Campus of Bryant & Stratton College is seeking an Adjunct Professor to teach Philosophy courses (critical thinking, logic, reasoning, and ethics). The position offers instruction across day, evening, and weekend slots and utilizes face-to-face, virtual, online, and blended modalities.

Responsibilities include coordinating with the Dean of Instruction, professional development, and timely completion of term paperwork.

Qualifications

  • Master’s in Philosophy required.
  • 1–3 years of teaching experience preferred.
  • Ability to interact and work effectively with faculty, staff, and students.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.

Job description

The Hampton Campus of Bryant & Stratton College is accepting applications for an Adjunct Professor to teach Philosophy courses (critical thinking, logic, reasoning, and ethics).

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Corresponds routinely with the Dean of Instruction.
  • Fosters academic excellence in teaching and learning.
  • Instruct students in accordance with College policies/curricula.
  • Effectively prepares for class and encourages students to participate in College activities.
  • Supports College extracurricular functions.
  • Remains current in the teaching field through professional development.
  • Prepares and submits Beginning-of-Term and, End-of-Term paperwork in a timely fashion.
  • Coordinates student internships and assists in recruiting internship sites.
  • Promotes campus activities.
  • Provides instruction for day, evening, and/or weekend classes.
  • Provides instruction in face-to-face, virtual, online, and blended modalities.
  • Maintains technological proficiency, including Microsoft products (Outlook and Teams) and Learning Management Systems (Blackboard).
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Master’s in Philosophy

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • 1-3 years of teaching experience is preferred.
  • Ability to interact and work effectively with faculty, staff, and students.
  • Leadership, integrity, problem-solving, and strong communication skills.

COMPENSATION: Paid via Adjunct Contract: range $2,400-2,600 per a 3-contact hour course for a 15-week semester

The selected candidate’s actual base pay for this role will take into account a wide range of non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. At Bryant & Stratton College, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Information about the total compensation package for this position will be provided during the interview process.
