Job summary

East Texas A&M University seeks an Adjunct Faculty member to teach Paralegal courses on a face-to-face basis at the Dallas campus. The position is taught on a course-by-course basis throughout the academic year.

The instructor will deliver live lectures, develop syllabi, plan lectures and assignments, and assess student performance while mentoring learners and ensuring alignment with department standards. This is a part-time, on-site role in Dallas.

Qualifications

• Education: Juris Doctorate.
• Three years of experience practicing law.
• Licensed by a state bar.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.

SUMMARY

Adjunct Faculty refers to an educator hired to teach on a course by course basis throughout an academic year.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Teach live lecture to paralegal students at the Dallas campus.
• Develop and manage the class syllabus and ensure that the syllabus meets department and college standards.
• Plan and create lectures, in-class discussions, and assignments.
• Assess grades for students based on participation, performance in class, assignments, and examinations.
• Assist/mentor students as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Education: Juris Doctorate.
• Experience: T hree years of experience practicing law. Must have previous experience working with paralegals/legal assistants.
• Knowledge / Skills: Must be knowledgeable and remain current in the subject matter of assigned courses. Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills to facilitate instruction in classes and engagement with students.
• Ability to: Multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
• Licensing/Professional Certifications: Licensed by a state bar.
