Job description

Adjunct Faculty of Clinical Mental Health Counseling (Remote)

EFFECTIVE DATE : August 2021

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

1. An earned doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision

2. Possesses an independent license (e.g., LMHC) as a mental health counselor or the ability to earn full licensure as a mental health counselor within the first six months

3. One to two years of teaching experience in a Counselor Education and Supervision program

4. Prior experience with course design and online teaching

5. One to three years of supervision experience

6. History of involvement in the American Counseling Association (ACA), its divisions or state chapters

7. Evidence of research and scholarly activity in counseling

DESIRED / PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :

Earned doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision from a CACREP accredited program

Possesses an independent license as in mental health counselor (E.g. LMHC) or the ability to earn full licensure as a mental health counselor within the first six months of employment

Three to five years of teaching experience in Counselor Education and Supervision program from a CACREP accredited Program

Prior experience with course design and online teaching, using Blackboard

Three to five years of supervision experience

Active involvement in the American Counseling Association (ACA), its divisions, or state chapters

DUTIES :

Teaching graduate-level Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) courses

Plan, evaluate, and revise curricula, course content, course materials, and methods of instruction

Actively supporting the management and administration of the department

Maintaining membership and actively participating in the work of appropriate professional organizations (E.g., American Counseling Association)

Keep abreast of developments in the field by reading current literature, talking with colleagues, and participating in professional conferences.

Supervise graduate practicum, internship, and research work.

Successfully engage with students from a wide range of backgrounds, races, cultures, ethnicities, sexual preferences, abilities, and nationalities in a manner that positively promotes the Mental Health Counseling field’s impact on diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Attend faulty meetings at least once a month
