Job summary

A leading educational institution in New York City is seeking an experienced part-time Adjunct Faculty member to teach writing for new media. LIM College is currently seeking an experienced part-time Adjunct Faculty member to teach writing for new media as part of our undergraduate Fashion Media degree program.

The successful candidate will have experience teaching hands‑on courses in journalism (feature or news writing), storytelling, or digital media. As a leader in the field of experiential learning, LIM College looks for experienced industry professionals who can bring knowledge of industry into the classroom. Thus, working journalists and editors with knowledge of the New York City media industry are strongly encouraged to apply.

Ideally, candidates can demonstrate a history of teaching undergraduates using creative and active teaching methods that effectively integrate learning management platforms (Canvas, Blackboard, etc.).

Requirements
  • Master’s degree in journalism, media studies, or related fields (Ph.D. preferred)
  • Minimum of 2–3 years experience teaching in related fields
  • Demonstrated ability to engage students using active learning
  • Experience using learning management software for some aspects of course delivery as well as grading (Canvas knowledge preferred)
