Job Summary

CCM seeks individuals with media experience to adjunct teachcourses in the areas of journalism and sports journalism. Idealcandidates will possess a strong professional background in avariety of methods in journalism and/or sports media. Excellentcommunication skills, and a passion for mentoring aspiringjournalists. Master’s degree required. Knowledge of AP stylerequired.

All adjunct faculty positions have as their primary objective tocreate a dynamic teaching/learning environment for our students,while contributing service to the college. Adjunct facultyresponsibilities include teaching assigned courses and followingthe course description and course outline established by thedepartment. Teaching schedules may include day/evening courses andonline/hybrid instruction and other instructional modalities.

In accordance with the Adjunct Faculty collective bargainingagreement ( CBA ), additional activities may include participationin departmental initiatives, evidence of academic achievements,recognition by professional and community organizations, and otherduties.

Qualifications - Education

Master’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution inappropriate discipline or five years plus professional experiencerequired.

Qualifications - Experience

Previous teaching/supervisory experience preferred.

Qualifications - Skills

Demonstrated knowledge of discipline including current developmentsand technologies. Strong verbal and written communication skills.Proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Adobe Photoshop software on a Macpreferred. Understanding of Associated Press Style required.

Work Hours

Day & Evening hours as needed.
